The Valemount Passivhus was one of Collective Carpentry’s first prefabricated projects out of our Invermere shop. Built for the former mayor of this small town near Canada’s famous Mt. Robson, the goal was to build a radically energy efficient building to show that high electric heating bills could be avoided with good design.
But the major benefit seen by the client and his family? The quiet they enjoy in this super-insulated house, where the regular rumble of trains carrying goods through the town is heard and felt by neighbors, but not in this house!
