About

Calina takes its inspiration from Passive House energy and comfort design principles which ultimately lend themselves very well to a bright, sunny, southern-facing home.  Enjoy the open concept kitchen and living area while the three bedrooms lie to the cozy northern side.  A generous entry and utility area can be configured for your needs, while the middle bedroom can easily be converted into an office.  An outdoor fireplace features in each of our style options, so that you don’t have to make the tradeoff between a warm cozy fire and an energy-efficient home that is comfortable year-round by nature of its design.

Options

Style

Choose between three architectural styles with three corresponding floorplans.  The Traditional features a gable roof and an exposed glulam roof beam supporting the roof structure, while the Modern design features a low sloped roof with clean interior lines.   The Mountain design increases the roof inclination for higher snow loads and an optional interior loft space, while adding clerestory windows above the south-facing glazing.  All feature an outdoor fireplace, as indoor fireplaces in high performance homes cause air quality and overheating issues – they’re that energy efficient! – and a dedicated fresh air heat recovery ventilation system.
